Thanks Moon, Sandy, James, et. al.
I made the pies last night and they were great! I used canned biscuit
dough as I had bought 3 cans for fifty cents a while back..almost out
of date stuff. I just saute'd the chopped apples in butter with some
sugar(brown and white), cinnamon, and cardamom, added some cornstarch
to thicken it, and then let the filling cool on a slanted cutting board
so all the excess juice ran out. I smashed out the dough a bit, spooned the
apples to the center, folded it, crimped it with a fork, and fried it.
MMMMMM
Last night was a test batch, I made 4 large pies from a huge Spokane Beauty
apple. DH and I had to split the pie. He had one this morning and we'll
have the others today or tomorrow.
Next time, smaller pies....
In a week or so, I should have a bushel of Arkansas Black apples to play
with. This is way better than making applesauce!

I thought they did have the questions in advance, no?
I just keep reading how Obama has been practicing for weeks, this week he is
at some camp in Florida working with a McCain stand-in. I just haven't seen
any comments about McCain practicing. Zip. He's kind of flat as a speaker
and since Obama is more dynamic, I expect him to win.
I surely did not think he wasn't good at debating, though. What could be
asked that would get him to stuttering? If McCain finds a chink in the
armor, something he hasn't rehearsed, it will be a miracle, I think. But
whatever, we will know soon, right?
And isn't there another debate for John and Barack sometime next month?

The proposed act reads "at any one time." If the buy $700B and sell $500B
they can tap your kids for another $200B loan, again and again. Bernanke
mentioned earlier last week that he thought $800B would be a minimum for now
and another $400B real soon. Gotta preserve those campaign donations at any
costs.
