Several comments and notes, for those interested...
Kate was high risk due to her thyroid (previous radiation treatment for
hyperthyroid, currently hypothyroid), previous cardiac arrhythmias and
cardiac ablation surgery...
Was diagnosed with some kind of cyst/tumor/mass next to the
cervix...will be biopsied 6 weeks postpartum..
She developed pre-eclampsia..high BP, protein in the urine, etc.
She had been on bedrest for two weeks, first induction attempt last week
failed...
Resorted to mechanical dilation using a Foley catheter with Pitocin on
Monday...hard labor from Tuesday noon through birth..failed epidural
attempts resulting in a "wet tap"-meaning she is deficient in spinal
fluid and now has that symptomatic headache...so she had no epidural and
throughout the labor process it appeared that she was headed for a
C-section..
Upon delivery, she tore on the anterior side, requiring several
stitches, then hemorrhaged after delivery requiring several clotting
injections....(BTW, I was there...assistant labor coach, I was..TOTALLY
AWESOME!)
Currently, she is anemic and has that headache...
Jordan had low sugar this morning, but is fine now..they are watching
her carefully..I personally think she weighed over 9, because she pee'd
a LOT before she was weighed..lol
Due to complications, Kate had a full, long glucose tolerance test and
several 24 hour urine tests...as recently as last week.
So, as you can see, it truly is a Christmas miracle..a natural birth
despite complications, with both mother and baby expected to make a full
recovery!
We have been truly fortunate, with Kate and Ron's ordeal(he's doing fine
on radiation-tired, but that is to be expected), and things are looking
up...TJ comes home Saturday morning!!! It's going to be a great Christmas!
In three years, Jordan will get her first goat. <g>

Bev, just glad it's all over...almost..
