I'm using a kerosene heater right now for supplemental heat in the
house. Moving to wood real, real, soon. I think that it's the user,
not the stove that presents the danger.
One thing that I've found with kerosene heaters is to learn to change
out the wick. I do it annually if I've used it a lot, if not, burn the
wick dry and clean it.
