It would be hard to justify when lumber can be had as cheap as it is there.

There is another factor. With a personal sawmill one can cut large stuff, like four by sixes, six by eights and larger, that in a lumber yard would be expensive.

I also contemplate squaring one or two side of a log to use as interior posts or corner posts. But those cuts are most economically made with a chainsaw mill.
