My experiance has been that cordless tools are a good
way to go. By having several I am able to use the

Batteries, there quality and durability, are the key. I have an otherwise perfectly good DeWalt 14.4 drill motor at Heartwood that is now useless unless I can find a charger and new batteries. One of the two batteries died some time ago and then the second one would not keep a charge for very long. The charger died, so the tool is useless.
Higher-powered cordless tools are good if needed, otherwise simply cost more and are typically heavier to haul around and hold while using. For heaviest work, using a corded tool is generally best. Beyond power, a tool that fits the user's hand well and has good balance will contribute to higher-quality work.
