Happy New Year to Frank and all the Good Mates herein!
I so often think of the expectations i had of what would actually
get done in the homesteading lifestyle - hee-hee, i have to laugh, rather
than cry, and think often of the 'Lowered Expectations' song my kids
listened to on Saturday Night Live! It was so easy to perceive the best
case scenario for all those years that i enjoyed planning our country
life before getting to actually move into it! Like buying a lottery
ticket, it gave me dream power toward all those good goals! Nevermind
the ages that we finally landed at in my dream, and the myriad of other
things that make it not come together....but just being here, getting
done what we reasonably can thru thrift and patience - some charity from
friends in the same boat, we are SO lucky/Blessed each day to get to wake
up in this! I suppose no matter the path in life, most of us do not have
the time or means to accomplish all we think we can.

We've some sort of new start coming up - and change is in the air. DH
and all his cohorts were laid off the week before Xmas, and at the same
time our one trusty vehicle, an aged Subaru is in the shop down in the
village awaiting go ahead on alot of repairs. Things are precarious, as
they seem to become now and then in life! To me, some kind of change is
blowing in this warm winter's wind! Please keep us in your good beams or
prayers, if you've time. It has been a wonderful Christmas all things
considered, with my 19 yr. old girly home from Berea and having some down
time together - doing next to nothing for a few days! We needed a rest
and here it is :)
Healthy 2007 to Y'all!
