During the Cedar Fire three years ago, a group of houses along a ridge burned because there was no water. At one time the area had several deep wells that supplied more than enough water for the horse and cattle ranches in the area. Then the indians built a casino and bored several wells. Still there was enough water, not as much but enough. They the indians built a huge resort with a huge golf course. They drilled several more wells and the wells on the ridge went dry as well as several of the expensive new wells. Now those deeper wells are starting to run dry so they are trying to push through some obscure rules that will give them access to a San Diego City reservoir

I will have to look up the cost, that was some time
ago. Now that I think of it part of the difference
may have been the urban system, vs a rural system,
rural having maybe one house per mile of pipe as
opposed to several hundred in town.
We are in the process of moving a house onto our land.
We have a well on the property but I'm thinking that
installing pump ect. brobably will be more expensive
than hooking up to the rural water system, $650
hookup fee + twice as much pipe to run out to the
road.
Any thoughts on that.

I have no clue how much domestic water costs,
actually. I've been on
wells for so many years -- I guess the last time I
lived on city water
was in 1989 (and that stuff was disgusting!!!!!!).
How much does
domestic water cost here in MO, anyhow?
