I want to know why. Why is a man who has five children and a wife to care for being sent to hell to possibly never return?
I hope your friend returns home safe. The policy as it is being enforced destroys families. On the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather they always highlight a dead soldier at the end of the broadcast and last night he was 23 years old. They said he gave up a college scholarship in favor of the military, but he lost a 7 month battle with his health after suffering injuries from a grenade blast. Then Dan Rather said in a more upbeat tone, "but he saved three lives, his organs were donated to people who needed them." There's a new slogan for the military in Iraq in there somewhere, but I won't say it.

Tales of the Great US and UN uniting and saving wretched souls from death and
torture
from a tyrant, offering to the Iraqis a liberating form of democracy and
freedom.

And most of the general public doesn't know or doesn't care how many Iraqi civilians have died or been severely wounded during this time of liberating democracy. If people knew, I'm not even sure it woud matter to many of them. We certainly don't hear about in any traditional form of US media.

And how much hogwash from Homeland Security and Bush have we heard about
needing to
trade in our personal freedom for security for the masses, though of course
not that bluntly.
Remember duct tape was once advised to be placed around our windows? I bet the Duct Tape Council of America got the last laughs on that one.
