What's your plan for Internet access along the way?
Right now only three methods are affordable for me.
The first is where a phone line is available I will be using my existing dial up account.
Second will be via WiFi where available. More and more campgrounds are putting i WiFi plus there are free hot spots all over the place, hotels and coffee shops being a good place. Many libraries have free WiFi and the state of Texas is putting it in some rest stops. Flying J truck stops have pay WiFi and WalMart is going to put in its own system.
Third is cell. I have a Verizon account and with a USM charger cord I can connect to the Internet via cell. It is Minutes Of Use so I have to limit myself to after 9PM to before 6AM and weekends where my plan gives me free minutes. Speed is in the area of 144 kbs.
A very expensive fourth option is Datastorm satellite. Costs are $5K for installation plus $100 a month. Out of my range.
