by way of small industries and industrial villages :

Fields, Factories, and Workshops by P Kropotkin 1918 reissued 1968

It did address the population/land 'problem' by insisting that if one does
not have a certain measure of control over one's food supply by devoting some
time every day to gardening/poultry/small livestock as well as to
income-producing efforts, one is not *living* to one's greatest potential,
that of being a producer as well as a consumer of the world's resources.

It did *not* address methods of population limitations, nor how the world's
people might manage to keep somewhat sizeable 'individual' portions of land,
without those, should they be fortunate enough to obtain land.

The author goes on at length about an ? original ? thought that *both* manual
and intellectual studies must be continued throughout the total learning
years of every student. (*He* doesn't go quite so far, however, as to
advocate teaching 'home economics' to boys and all the trades to girls
*equally* insofar as encouraging any *individual* to 'step out of the
patriarchal "mold" ')
