This year I have found no slug trails, no slug damage on the leaves of
hostas (or anything else), no slugs on my stone walls, no slug celebrants
partaking of the custard cups of beer I leave out. Is it possible that I
have no slugs any more?
Perhaps they have taken the hint!

I have perhaps the opposite problem in that one year ago when we moved here so many chemicals had been put into the ground that even earthworms had taken their leave.   Now one year later the earthworms are coming back, along with robins who find them, the trees and shrubs look healthier and the deer damage is at an acceptable level - I didn't plant annuals!!!!

We are enjoying the first bit of summer that has hit Pittsburgh for 3 yrs - near 90 and no rain for at least 2 weeks.
Life is good
