Lorraine,
When we had a cat we never had a rabbit problem. Now we
have red tailed hawks that circle over head and yet you can always find 1/2
dozen rabbits somewhere. In my garden they have decimated the Platycodon,
Callirhoe, Rudbeckia triloba, and more.
Last year I had purchased a new Liriope that is
chartreuse. The rabbits love regular Liriope but this poor PeeDee Gold variety
couldn't even get out of the ground. Many people use Milorganite as a deer
deterrent so I made a ring of Milorganite around the PeeDee Gold Liriope and no
more rabbits!
This year I remembered that after noticing the
disappearance of the above mentioned perennials so I also put the milorganite
around them. Worked like a charm for me. The rabbits are still here but they are
eating the clover in the lawn. A perfect arrangement as I see
it :-)
