Have you seen the photo of a slug crawling over the sharp side of a razor blade? If that doesn't cut a slug's body, DE won't. Neither will eggshells.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned diotomaceous earth for slugs.
Maybe it was a spelling thing (:>) Below is one of the many

Basically it is finely crushed shells. The slugs crawl across them
and it cuts their bodies...they dehydrate and die. You have to
surround the plants so they can't crawl around. It is odorless, doesn't
look too bad and is natural. It might be cost prohibitive for gigantic
areas, but it is available in bulk.
