All,
We find ADSL in Dehli and Pune to be very acceptably and inexpensively
priced and (when the ISP has electricity) usually very reliable. Don't even
try it in Patna, where you're lucky if you get 4 hours of electricity a day,
although on the plus side, it's very easy to get malaria from the local
mosquito population.
I would be surprised to hear that leased lines in Delhi are similarly
priced, but it's been a while since we priced the various technologies.
Cheers,

Hi ...
I'm not an expert on this, but my understanding has been that the leased
line technology is generally sold at a higher price and with a stronger
SLA than DSL services. So, if the speeds and prices ... And the SLA as
well ... Are the same, then it may come down to minor items. Also,
leased lines are almost always sold as symmetric (same rated speed up
and down), and the ADSL acronym itself means the speeds are asymmetric
(up is lower than down, usually). Also,I was surprised that both are
priced similarly. As a comment, my guess is that the ISP services in
Delhi are very different in quality and price than those in most African
counties ... Prices much lower and offerings much stronger in India ...
Very different markets ..
What kinds of pricing are being offered in Delhi for what levels of
service?
Thanks!
Jim

We are outfitting an office in Dehli India. We are deciding between a
leased line and an ADSL line. Having used more leased lines than ADSL
in other offices in Africa, I haven't been a big fan of ADSL. But Is
there any advantage to using ADSL over a leased line given the same
speeds and price for both?
