Hi, Stan. I have been using Mambo (mamboserver.com), which is an Open
Source CMS, to manage our websites. At first, I was happy with it
because it was quick to get up and running and easy to learn, but as I
have continued to use it, I have reached some limitations with it. I
understand that the Mambo development team have moved to a similar
product called Joomla (joomla.org), which I am going to investigate. And
also a system called Drupal (drupal.org) has gotten good reviews by
colleagues, but I have not personally tried it.
This might be a good resource for comparing CMS:
http://www.cmsmatrix.org/. I also found this resource very helpful when
looking for a CMS because it lets you try out multiple CMSs without
having to install them: http://www.opensourcecms.com/
I would be very interested in hearing the results of your search as I am
currently searching for a CMS to support a portal. I will also keep you
apprised of what I find.
Best, Shannon Turlington (IntraHealth International)

Hello.
Hope you are all are doing well.
We are beginning to evaluate content management systems for use on our
web sites at the Population Council. We are eager to move to a full DB
driven model for managing our sites content, and I am querying this list
to determine if any of you have already undertaken such a project. If
you have, would you please share what product and technology you
selected to provide CMS? Are you content with the selection?
Thank you and best regards,
Stan
