begin transaction
commit transaction
rollback transaction
with a simple SQLExecDirect() call, but this fails now with FreeTDS... why?
Is this controlled by the FreeTDS ODBC code to avoid conflicts with SQLEndTrans()?

I think you are using an old TDS protocol version...
