None of the tools listed are used when building from a tarball. The
configure script uses only the shell. For the record, the autotool
versions used to create the tarball are listed in INSTALL.CVS.

I'm always concerned when someone has trouble building a release
candidate. If --disable-odbc isn't excluding enough stuff (it does for
me), we definitely need to correct that.
