OK, so it's a version issue. Good, I'm glad 0.63 will solve that

That's too bizarre for words. tsql and dbopen use the same functions to
locate the server's ip address and make the connection. They don't
accept ip addresses; they take only freetds.conf dataserver names.

You might want to try bsqldb, too, because it uses db-lib (like your app
does). If it works -- which it will ;-) -- then, really, it's time to
look for something simple.

Such as, did you recompile and relink your application? Does you build
environment point to the new version's location? Stuff like that.

If you're sure you've done everything right but still can't connect,
turn on TDSDUMP and TDSDUMPCONFIG just before you start your app. It
will show how the conf files are being searched, and what they're being
searched for.

I think you're almost home. You have a working pool server and FreeTDS
utilities. All that's left is a small matter of programming.
