Michael meant exactly what he said, Patrick, that it's supported in recent
versions of Sybase OpenClient, not just the ancient ones.

If I may make a suggestion, why not change our code instead of yours?
Implement CS_SERVERNAME as "select @@servername". It's safe to make ct-lib
calls from within ct-lib, as long as no results are pending.

We should issue that query immediately on connecting, and cache the name for
later querying, but I can't find anywhere that we do that.
