If I recall correctly (IIRC?) FreeTDS aims to be a fairly clean replacement
for the sybase libs. Therefore you could probably track down docs for the
sybase libs...
And/or you could look at the source of one of the many open source projects
that use Freetds (sqsh, qt3, php all come to mind)
