This is not done in code. (It wouldn't be real security if an
applet could just turn it off!) Instead, there is a file that
contains security policies. It will probably be in a subdirectory
of the JRE. On my machine, it's
C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1\lib\security\java.policy.
Try adding, to the "default permissions" section, the line
permission java.lang.reflect.ReflectPermission
"suppressAccessChecks";
and see if it makes a difference. I don't really know much about
Java security; this all comes from about 10 minutes browsing the
"on-line help" (Google) the last time someone asked this question.
