Darryl,
I had this sort of thing on Digital UNIX 4.0F too, and the solution was
to rebuild ... I suspect somewhere the code ignores the TDSVER
environment variable in favour of the --with-tdsver=4.2 configure flag.
I never got to the bottom of it. I'm not even sure what SQL server
version my box is talking to ... it's a subversive ad-hoc development.
