...so if it makes its way into the release no one will be too worried, but if
someone happened to file a bug report about the fact that FreeTDS on alpha
can't talk to MS SQL on intel, it would probably be release-critical. :D

I have access to a Linux-AXP system at work (running RedHat) and an NT server
running SQL 7.0, and I'll also be getting my hands on another Alpha soon
that'll be converted to Debian, so I have a setup that I can start working
with. The question is, where do I start coding? You mention larger protocol
fields; does that mean that the TDS protocol should actually look different
with 64-bit v. 32-bit machines, or just that freetds needs some help so that a
64-bit client acts just like a 32-bit client? I have almost no knowledge of
the TDS protocol; does anyone know where I could find some good documentation
to let me know what I should expect to see on the line, or are the
implementations the only real documentation? :)
