- Subject: Porting TDS to QNX for use with MSSQL 7
- Date: Fri, 14 Apr 2000 14:6:22
We have a need for simple access to our MSSQL 7 server from applications
written in c/c++ running the QNX operating system. By simple I mean we just
need to be able to execute Insert, Update, and Select commands from QNX
applications and get back the status and/or results. QNX is a little odd
ball in heritage but it meets 'POSIX' 1 and 4 standards and has quite
standard unix tcp/ip interface. Nobody seems to have done a general purpose
ODBC implementation of ODBC on QNX that we could use so I am looking at
adopting the free TDS, probably with the dblib interface, and doing any
conversion that is necessary for the QNX environment. We would of course
contribute anything we do back to the community.
I wonder if anyone has any comment on the feasibility of this approach.
Searching the mail it does not look as if anyone is working with QNX ?
Thanks,
Dick Grubb
