You don't need to open a new connection each time you process a statement.
You should be doing something like:
Class.forName ("com.internetcds.jdbc.tds.Driver");
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(url, "user", "pass");
Statement stmt = con.createStatement ();
ResultSet rs1 = stmt.executeQuery (query1);
ResultSet rs2 = stmt.executeQuery (query2);
etc.
(Of course I've omitted try/catch, etc. etc. etc.)
