I installed it and found similar connecting problems. From Solaris 2.6
I've noticed that (in general) every other connection succeeds.

The problem does not seem to occur using the supplied isql on the local
system.

Otherwise it looks good, isql and bcp seem to work ok. I read somewhere
in the docs that SQL Monitor was to be included but I don't see it. I
don't currently have a working copy of sqsh or sybperl on the system to
test it against.

As for 11.9, it is GA on most platforms according to their web site.
I've been testing it on Solaris 2.6 -- successfully upgraded an 11.5.1
SWR 7958 server to 11.9.2 beta 2 without too much trouble. Brian, did
you mean to say that you thought 11.9 might be coming for Linux?

As for the future of freetds, I believe it is a very worthwhile
project. Sybase may or may not, at their discretion, continue their
Linux support. (As they mentioned in their license agreement, it's
unsupported). I've been subject to their whim since they first released
ctlib for Linux (in a.out format!). ELF support (which was needed about
3 months later) never came from them as far as I know. I don't mean to
slight them for their Linux support, I was glad to have it, but they
have their priorities, and freetds addresses a different arena. The
comments on the dblib support as well as mssqlserver support are well
taken. With source available for freetds, bug fixes can be addressed as
well.

I'm looking forward to freetds's success.
