Actually, there is currently a freeware solution for linux. Sybase
released a free version of the Sybase ct-lib for linux in a.out
library format. Some linux hackers converted the library into
elf format, and I'm currently using it with the perl DBI library
to access an MS SQL 6.5 database. It works quite well, but I would
like a solution for other platforms (aix, irix, freebsd, ...).
I vote for MS SQL on NT.
