Well, personally, I vote for MS SQL (on NT) from a Unix platform (thats
what I am up against). This is also the one area that there isn't a
freeware solution (until now). The cost to get linux to talk to an MS SQL
server is way to high, relative to the cost for everything else on Linux.
Its sad to say, but more and more people are being drawn into the Microsoft
fold, and once they get into that world, they are generally stuck with
buying the rest of their (MS) products (because they all "work" together).
Having a way to get Unix to access the NT environment, allows shops to
venture forth away from a total MS solution, thus taking some of the air ou
the already full sails (or was that sales). Oops, sorry got off topic
there... oh yea, my vote for Unix/MS SQL Server.
