Extend the harvest and eat local foods year-round! Learn safe home food preservation methods at Cornell Cooperative Extension-Tompkins.
Schedule of remaining food preservation classes below:
- Boiling Water Bath Canning
- Thurs, July 15th, 6:30-9:00 pm
- This class covers how to safely use a boiling water bath canner to preserve tomatoes, fruits or pickles. Participants will receive updated information on canning procedures and hands-on practice.
- Pressure Canning of Vegetables and Meat
- Tues, July 20th, 1:00-4:00 pm OR
- Thurs, July 29th, 6:30-9:00 pm
- Learn the procedures for safely canning low-acid foods, such as vegetables and meats, in a pressure canner. Get updated information on canning techniques, and learn about the different types of pressure canners that can be used.
- Thurs, July 15th, 6:30-9:00 pm
