Actually, a substantial Jewish presence in and near Lystra is not
unlikely. Antiochus I settled Jewish populations in central Anatolia in the
regions of southern Galatia, Lyconia, eastern Phrygia, etc. And it is in
these Jewish communities that Paul evangelized. I don't see any problem with
a mixed-marriage Jewish boy coming from any city of central Anatolia.
