>However, this text forces us all to ask:

>would Paul have spent a fortnight with Peter (and some time with James), in
>all likelihood even staying in his home (EPEMEINA PROS AUTON), and not have

>heard a wealth of stories about Jesus' career?

I guess my question would then be, why was there a split between Paul and the apostles?  It seems that the apostles must have believed that Jesus' mission was to the Jews, else there would not have been a Jerusalem conference.  Further, it seems that they must have believe his mission was to help them have a better way to interpret the Torah, else there would not have been a split.  It seems that Paul might have heard many stories about the historical Jesus, but he either rejected some of it or thought Jesus was too narrow in his outlook.

Is there some faulty reasoning to all of this?
