You might want to check Wanamaker (1990) on Thessalonians and Kennedy
(1984). Philemon may perhaps be the best example of Paul's use of Rhetoric.
Notice the pathos (13-14) the logos (15-16) and ethos (17 ff) imbedded in a
classical exordium (4-7) and peroration (20-22).
