Thanks Tom,
Accessibility
Will do. (Keep an Eye out) I think making the sight very accessible is
important. There are lots of visually challenged musicians, too.
JAWS is the one of the, if not the top, screen readers of choice. There are
several others, though. I have access to JAWS, if the site design needs to
be tested for screen readability.
A text oriented sight can still be very good looking and interactive.
Template driven is good, too. Some great open source portal software
available. Getting content via RSS, etc helps keep it changing. Tying in a
good forum package and making the discussion the focus can help (like
slashdot).
Using shockwave, flash, etc certainly makes it a bit more sticky and
interactive - some sites over do it by using a complete flash design which
is to heavy for low bandwidth. I'd have to see where the these technologies
are these day's with regards to accessibility.
By following the section508.gov requirements (it is a law for government
sites that they meet these requirements for accessibility) it'll take care
of many accessibility issues. Although, the WC3 recommendations go further.
Donation for MD registration -
My card was charged on August 14, 2004 - (BrockWorks) 50.00 for the
registration 5.00 donation to defray Networkforgood.org costs. I find it a
tad bit disconcerting that the transaction has not flowed through. I'm sure
it'll all work out.
Computer Donation
Still looking for some recommendations for packages to load. Minimum
requirements. Hoping you can help.
Peace and Music,
Francis

and just.
Is there hope. Hope there is. Is hope there. There hope is. Hope is there.
There is hope.

: Hi, Francis: Thanks for the links leads. Please keep your eyes open
: for a site you might come across that Open Studios might emulate. Open
: Studios is a predominantly text-oriented site, as opposed to one that
: uses Flash, or lots of graphics, as you know. I'd like to shift it to a

:
: On the donation topic, I checked P.O. Box this morning. No check, so
: I'll see what the account at Heritage Bank shows. It should show
: electronic transfer a few days ago. If it doesn't, I'll track back with
: the folks at Networkforgood.org to see what they say.
