Hi, Everyone: Well, maybe not a full status report, but just to let you
know:
It's been a long week, as Ibiblio.org Project has been in the midst of a
major rework of equipment and services. A lot of rough sledding on site
access for visitors as well as maintenance of sites. I just had a brief
period of great site usage to add the UC-Berkeley Boalt Hall's very own
band, Orange Crush!. This is a good sign that we should be heading for
smooth sailing for another year and a half, maybe. And, just in time as
the holiday season is rapidly approaching.

I fine-tuned the index page for SONG STORM. Let me know what you think.
http://www.ibiblio.org/studioforrecording/php/playlist.php

I have seven or eight artists to add, to catch up, and that puts us over
the 100 artists mark, and heading for 200. I'll try to get that done
tomorrow and Saturday. The next step, then, is to focus on getting the
logo designs for SONG STORM and Open Studio finalized, and signing up
for Cafepress. Is there anyone that wants to handle the administrative
aspects of signing up, choosing what products to offer, etc. for either
SONG STORM, Open Studios, or both? Let me know. It would be a big
help, and probably a fun project, if you want to do it.

The other project that needs immediate attention, is the time has come
to put announcements out about SONG STORM and Open Studios. This is a
group thing, and needs discussion. We have ( I think ) some eighteen
communities that showed interest through one or more volunteers for
community-based recording studios. The list should be posted, and
contact with the volunteers established/updated.

I'll get back to the Commemorative CD project, Alan is looking for
feedback on the collaborative CD project, and Francis is awaiting some
info for moving forward with setting up his donated computers in
anticipation at least one will be shipped to the Congo. Last, but not
least, will be the gathering of the databank of info required to make a
one-stop shop for artists to license, upload to a repository, and get
listed with multiple sites/services like gnomoradio, radioaid.com,
commoncontent.org, Agnula, etc.

Did I mention we need to shift the site to holiday mode, soon? Any and
all ideas welcome. Don't hesitate to speak up if you want
administrative rights to either site, and do your creative thing. It's
your organization, you know. :)

Will keep you posted.
Tom
