[1] From the Palisades web site:
Palisades Security Consulting
Comprehensive and Integrated Leadership, with a Focus on Protecting
Against and Responding to Terrorism
Palisades security team experts provide technical assistance to the
surface transportation industry [read as TSA] in preparing against
threats to and attacks on surface transportation operations, personnel
and the customers that they serve.

[2] "It's the kind of thing we hear from universities or customers that
act more as an ISP," said Doug Jacobson, Palisade's founder and chief
technology officer. "They want to take the position of not filtering out
all peer-to-peer [traffic], stopping copyrighted works but not the other
content."

[3] Doug has chosen not to include his name on the web site for
Palisades, nor list his name on the Palisades Counter Terrorism Team
Page. That tells me Doug is not so clueless, as he is misrepresenting
monitoring/surveillance software for the government as an
innocent-looking RIAA gambit.

[4] It will be real interesting to see what the terms for use are, and
what the universities are getting in return for using it.

Folks, this smells like CAPPS II Big Time. What do you think?
Tom
