Hi, John: You really did it this time. You quoted poor Doug Jacobson
in your article,
Software stops illegal song trading

" "It's the kind of thing we hear from universities or customers that
act more as an ISP," said Doug Jacobson, Palisade's founder and chief
technology officer. "They want to take the position of not filtering out
all peer-to-peer [traffic], stopping copyrighted works but not the other
content." "

Then, politely accepted his clueless comment as gospel. Please check
our present copyright law, and try to refresh your memory that all works
are automatically copyrighted, unless the creator chooses otherwise and
specifically engages a registration to undo the copyright. Believe it
or not, Independent Artists want their copyrighted works "heard" on P2P
networks, but they don't want commercial use made without asking them.
I look forward to your correction on the lies, eh?

We're out here in the real world, trying to provide the underprivileged
with free recording services so they can pursue careers in music and the
arts, and you're back there in La La Land, kissing the RIAA's
you-know-what by spreading lies, misrepresentations, and misstating
facts in your position as a professional journalist. We'll have to add
you to what's-her-name's list. You know, the PR lady that let everyone
believe she was a reporter in the name of spreading lies about Medicare
Reform.
