For Raleigh folks who don't want to make the drive to Chapel Hill Sunday, Eugene Chadbourne and percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani are making another stop in the Triangle, at the sweetest unknown venue around, Marsh Woodwinds, this Tuesday, April 5 at 8pm. $10 at the door.

Eugene Chadbourne is a national treasure, one of the few artists to really explore all the nooks and crannies & commonalities between the two great American musical forms, Jazz & Country+Western music.

Amen. Anyone who wants to hear him should check out the podcast of his last solo show at Marsh, in which he played mostly dark, disturbing, open-ended acoustic folk songs:

It was great (no electric rake in sight). This time he's joined by Nakatani, an amazing improv percussion/soundscape performer. The two of them are touring the east coast, using (according to their press release) "Johnny Cash train beat" as a jumping off point. Marsh puts out a nice spread of food at each show, too, and is BYOB. More info at http://taintradio.org/.

todd managed to fuck up the print promo stuff but catching up morman
