=95 8:30P High Strung Music's Old Time Jam w/ Aaron Greenhood
Old-time music is a form of North American folk music, with roots in
the folk musics of many countries, including England, Scotland,
Ireland and Africa. This musical form developed along with various
North American folk dances, such as square dance, buck dance, and
clogging. The genre also encompasses ballads and other types of folk
songs. It is played on acoustic instruments, generally centering on a
combination of fiddle and plucked string instruments (most often the
guitar and banjo).

=95 6:30P Blues N' Brews Tri-Beer - The Triangle Beer Meet Up
You do not need to be a Tri-Beer member to participate in this event.
Tri-Beer is a group for the true beer enthusiast or those who want to
develop a stronger appreciation for beer. Every month, we try to bring
in a beer that is special or different - - - something that not
everybody would normally get a chance to try. We've had beautiful
casks and kegs from Duck Rabbit, Lone Rider, Aviator, Sweetwater,
Foothills, Carolina Brewing, Carolina Brewery, and others.

The Carolina Brewing Company will be providing a sixtel of their
Oktoberfest and a couple of cases of their Anniversary Belgian Tripel.

Carolina Oktoberfest Lager
The Oktoberfest Lager is a smooth, amber lager with caramel and
toffee malt flavors, noble hop flavors and a slight warming sensation
from the higher than average alcohol content (5.6abv). Balance is
important. Fermentation and lagering take place over a six week period
at cool temperatures to produce the smooth round flavor.

Anniversary Belgian Tripel
To celebrate our 14th year of brewing, we have created a special
beer. Our Belgian Tripel is a deep golden colored ale with a complex
balance of spicy, fruity and alcohol flavors. It is made from pilsner
and caramel malts and Hallertau hops. It is unfiltered and heavily
carbonated for a strong fizz like that of sparkling wines. 8.0%abv

Come for the Beer...stay for the Blues!

=95 8P Rupert Wates (acoustic/jazz)
Born in London, I've been a full time songwriter most of my waking
life and also in some of my dreams. I signed a publishing deal with
Eaton Music in 1994. I've done stints as a journalist, travelling to
Europe, the far east and the US. Moved to Paris in 2001 and lived
there five years. Since fall 2006 I've been based in the US, first on
the west coast and lately on the east. I play 100-150 live shows a
year. In 2008 alone I covered more than 15,000 miles, with gigs in
almost every state. People have been nice or I've been lucky, and I've
received over twelve songwriting awards (see list below). I've made
two CDs since coming to the States, 'Coast To Coast' and 'Dear Life'.
They've both had good reviews.
=95 10P Starlume (rock/pop/alternative)
The seeds were sown in theater corridors of Branson, MO. A wall of
sound that is Starlume formed roots when the audio talents of a
popular stage actor and a restless sound engineer were focused on rock
and roll. Landon Rose(vocals/keys/guitars) and Corey Eggleston(drums/
backing vocals) began their musical journey over six years ago by
recording songs that they had written together and playing shows
across the country with several friends and musicians. This eventually
lead to settling in Nashville during the summer of 2007.
A year later, they completed Starlume with the addition of Nate
Woodall (guitars). With all the musical pieces in place, Starlume took
life and began the process of making the music that they heard in
their heads. Drawing from an extensive range of influences (Depeche
Mode, Muse, the Police, U2, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Billy
Joel) they have crafted a set of songs that sonically demand and
lyrically communicate an urgency for change, a need for hope, and the
necessity of truth. Says Nate, "We write and perform songs about
living life and growing daily. Songs about not being stagnant and
wanting to make the most out of every day."
Filled with driving rhythms, pulsing bass lines, and engaging
melodies, their 2nd EP is set for release in the summer of 2009. In
the mean-time, Starlume is taking their energy-filled live show to the
road and sharing their music as much as possible.

Sunday September 20
=95 7:30P Aaron Mills Project - Sunday Night Jazz Jam
Starting at 7:30, Open Jam at 9

If you are in any way a fan of jazz, this is not to be missed !!!
Aaron Mills, best known as the audacious bassist of classic funk act
Cameo, has inspired a generation of groovy musicians, but his long
time love affair with jazz has inspired The Aaron Mills Project.
Aaron has been playing at the Cafe for a few months now, along with
Wayne Kee, Bobby Hinton, Warren Fraizer and others. Aaron has brought
Sunday night jazz back to the Cafe in a format that includes a cast of
regulars as well as featured guest musicians every week. Towards the
end of the evening, the night becomes an open jam, so, if anyone wants
to come blow their horn....
