=95 8P Lakenau and Joe
Some people can sing and then there are folks like Crystal who can
really sing! Born and raised in North Carolina, Crystal found her
voice at early age singing in church. Nina Simone meets gospel &
blues. Bo Lankenau has lived in and played music in San Francisco,
D.C. and Dallas. Bo has created a style all his own by playing
exclusively in altered tunings, with an emphasis on complex
fingerstyle rhythms.
=95 10P Southwing (rock)

Saturday Jan 24
=95 8P Tad Dreis (singer/songwriter)
=95 10P Luego (rock/indie)
Under the able direction of Patrick Phelan, Luego is Jeff Crawford
(Roman Candle), Peter Holsapple (REM, the dBs, Hootie and the
Blowfish), Nick Jaeger (Roman Candle) drummer Rob DiMauro. They've
toured in over 25 states, been on television, the radio, and played
some big venues with some big names. What to expect from a Luego show?
The lyrical delivery of Dylan, the rock sensibility of Wilco, a hint
of swagger.
=95 11:30P Tripp (rock/powerpop/alternative)
It's all Alex Wilkins' fault: he wrote some songs and wanted to peform
them in front of people. After recording some acoustic tunes produced
by former Pavement drummer Steve West, Paul Fisher said he could add
some drums. Hugh Swaso said he could help out, too. Hugh's played and
recorded with a lot of folks, including Jump, Little Children, Robert
Sledge of Ben Folds Five, and Who's Bad: the Ultimate Michael Jackson
Tribute, but it was his dreadlocks and dance moves and the way the
dreadlocks moved when he danced that impressed the other guys. They
rounded out the rhythm with Alex Van Gils on bass. Their independent
release, "Good Boy Charm," shows off their love of melodic rock with a
twist of country and blues that features a lot of vocal harmonies,
blistering but heartfelt guitar solos, and lyrics inspried by things
they've done and people they know.
