In case you're not going to the Wilco show Friday, Jay Cartwright's new
project Lemming Malloy (in which I play bass and sing) is debuting tomorrow,
headlining the Local 506 and releasing its EP at a FREE show. Here are the
details:
Friday 8/8/08 Local 506
10:00 - Weatherkings (ex-members of Fake Swedish and On Three)
11:00 - The Travesties (ex-members of Jett Rink, and Doug White and Chuck
Garrison, I think)
12:00 - Lemming Malloy (ex-members of Eyes to Space and Invasion)
Still feeling undecided about this band? Listen to a clip of the WKNC
interview last Friday, in which Jay explains why the Lemming Malloy song
"House of Cards" contains an amalgamation of the themes explored in The
Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Foucault's The History of Sexuality, Volume 1: An
Introduction. NO KIDDING!
