Let's see, I've owned Local 506 over four years now and finally
implementing one of the ideas I've had since day one - a local music
networking night. With the help of Eleni (of Beloved Binge) and Mimi
(of The Pneurotics) plus a few others, the concept is transforming
from idea to execution!

Here is some info - the first one will be on booking, but expect
future panels to focus on other areas such as publicity to
production. We hope to see you there....glenn

Secondhand Freespace is a free music industry forum launching August
27th at Local 506, in Chapel Hill. The objective of "Secondhand
Freespace" is to break down and de-mystify various aspects of the
music industry by tapping into the wealth of knowledge that currently
exists throughout the state of North Carolina. The initial panel will
discuss the process of booking: "Booking the Triangle & Beyond."
Though booking is relatively easy for many experienced bands in this
region, there are many ways to improve the process and outcome. The
panelists (see below) will discuss the booking process from their
perspective.

What: Secondhand Freespace: "Booking the Triangle & Beyond"
Where: Local 506
When: Wednesday, August 27th, Doors: 7:30 pm. Panel: 8 - 9 pm
Who: Panelists for the first forum will include the booking managers
from some Chapel Hill venues and moderated by Grayson Currin.
Dayn Peters - Jack Sprat
Glenn Boothe - Local 506
Jenks Miller - Nightlight
Mouse Mock - The Cave
Moderator: Grayson Currin - The Independent, Pitchfork (among other
places!)
