Cities are cool. You can walk around in them. You can run into other people. There's stuff going on. You can go out for dinner, go grab a drink, and then see pieces of a couple of different shows, all on foot, if you're so inclined. If you live in a real city you don't always even need a car. That's pretty cool.

Driving out to a strip mall on the Orange/Chatham border to see a rock show is lame. The best thing I could possibly say about that is it might be a necessary evil given the economics of rock and real estate prices that are out of control. There is no sense in which such an arrangement is optimal, however. Obviously, if that's the only way to get the rock, then people will do it, but suburban strip malls just aren't rock'n'roll. Sorry.
