On Friday 1/4/2008, Local 506 in Chapel Hill, NC will host three
bands:.

Guitars In The Sky - this is Mitch Easter and Shalini's tribute to The
Records, the high energy 80's power-pop band from the UK ("Starry
Eyes" was one of The Records big hits; you can hear it at
http://www.myspace.com/therecordsmyspace). Probably best known for
his work with REM and as the frontman for Let's Active, Easter's
extensive resume includes work with Pavement, Game Theory, Marshall
Crenshaw and the dBs, among others.

Amps Do Furnish A Room - local music collective Amps Do Furnish A Room
will cover Television's influential "Marquee Moon" album in its
entirety. Amp Do Furnish A Room features members of Killer Filler and
Dom Casual, as well as Jeff Hart from The Damage Done/The Hanks/The
Ruins/Meltzer-Hart.

Heart Of Glass - this is a Blondie tribute featuring members of Dom
Casual, The Sleepies and Roxotica.

Times:

@ 9:30pm - Mitch Easter's Guitars In The Sky (http://
www.interbridge.com/gits/), covering The Records (http://
www.myspace.com/therecordsmyspace);
@ 10:30pm - Amps Do Furnish A Room (http://
www.ampsdofurnisharoom.com), covering Television (http://
www.myspace.com/televisionband);
@ 11:30pm - Heart Of Glass, covering Blondie (http://www.myspace.com/
blondie).

Come. Really. It'll be fun. Burn off the carbon: after weeks of
concentrated family-oriented holiday fun, you will so deserve a
break.
