Sunday, Sept. 2nd (have Labor Day off?)
@ Bull City Headquarters:
CANTWELL,GOMEZ&JORDAN
THE DRAYTON SAWYER GANG
(8PM. pass the hat. no alcohol.)
Cantwell's assessments:
CANTWELL,GOMEZ&JORDAN=We hope you like a lot of...singing.
THE DRAYTON SAWYER GANG=Our pals from Brooklyn. Cool PiL/Trumans Water-style heaviness. Like a sludgy version of This Heat, which I guess makes them kinda like Neptune. Does this mean anything?? Who cares--they are made up of some people from the Dynamite Club, who you might remember as the band with the underwear-wearing guitar player CGJ played with @ Chaz's that one time...
PRINT=If hardcore music were really arty...well, sometimes it is, and it sounds like this (better than The Locust, though). Cynical yet joyous. Melodic yet abrasive. 75-second songs. Goodness, Brooklyn!!
I don't think we're real sure of the band order - sorry.
And sorry if you get more than one notice about this show - it wasn't in the Independent and I wanted to make sure word got around.
