Dude, seriously, ADVERTISE THAT SHIT. At the very least, put it on your website & post it here. The #1 reason why I don't go to more shows at your venue is the smoke factor, and I assume that I'm not the only one in that position. I can easily stay up til 1:00 a.m. at the Cradle & then go to work the next day, but spending about an hour at the Local 506 when it's smoky makes me feel like crap for the next 36 hours. So if it's a weeknight, or even a weekend night where the bands are good-but-not-great, I'm at the point where the feeling-like-crap outweighs the potential fun to be had.

So if there are even a few more people like me out there, then actually letting them know in advance that the show will be nonsmoking might make the difference between going/not-going.

I'd consider that. As everyone should know, I don't smoke so I'm not
against non-smoking events, but ultimately leave it up to the artist to
decide. We've had a couple recently (Over The Rhine, Shankley's) and
this Friday's Don Dixon show will also be non-smoking. Likewise, we
haven't had any problems enforcing this on such nights, which is a good
sign.
