glad to know there are other hoosiers down here. in fact, i just
moved from richmond, indiana last fall...

it looks like there are a lot potential origins for the word hoosier
according to this wikipedia article
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoosier>. unfortunately, i was out of
state for the first half of fourth grade, so i missed most of the
indiana history stuff. i do, however, remember that wuzzle means to
mix (was that fifth grade?). oh, and you're right, the term indianan
is just ridonculous.

Now about Mr. Simon- Good God what is he thinking? Indianian is not
acceptable--ever.
I think I remember that textbook, but when I was in school back in the
home state it was hard to see on cloudy days unless you sat by the
fireplace.
There are at least four definitions for Hoosier that I know of;
The whose ear barfight thing
The traveling salemen who sold hoses and irrigation lines
The shifty Ohio riverboat guy named Mike Hoosier
and the variation on 'Who's here?'
None are probably right.
Don't even get me started about daylight savings time.
Consarnit, indeed.
