We are going to be collecting money for her over the next few weeks to
help her with the burden of health care bills she will face. If you
wish... you can go to www.myspace.com/theexmembers where you can make a
secure Paypal donation.
Thanks so much for your support of her and our band - we love you all!

To understand what is going on with her please read the following:

Melissa had major surgery Tuesday , March 21 on her spine for a
ruptured disk in her neck (that's what happens when you drum like a
tightly wound tin monkey! :), but seriously...

If you didn't know, about a month ago Melissa started having extreme
pain in her shoulder and left arm, followed by weakness and some loss
of control in her arm. After many visits to several different
specialists and lots of asking around, surfing the web, and basically
just agonizing over whether this was a good idea, she came to the
conclusion that it's her best option-- she could have risked permanent
damage in her arm if she waited too long.

She had a ruptured disk in her cervical spine (neck) and had to get a
discectomy and spinal fusion.
This surgery has a very high success rate and combined with physical
therapy and body work after the surgery, she should pretty much be able
to return to normal. They have been told that it takes about 6-10 weeks
to recover (and about a year to get back to normal).

Because she is such a Bad-Ass Rock Star and has committed her life to
Rocking for you she doesn't have the best health insurance...
This is where you come in...

Please help in any way you can...either a secure donation via Paypal,
you organizing a benefit in her honor, or just well wishes...any thing
would be gratefully appreciate.
