There's a downloadable program called EAC (Exact Audio Copy) which I've
used with great success. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of
Roxio
or Nero, but it generates excellent-quality recordings and makes the
manipulation
of gaps between tracks really simple. Also, it's free. I have both EAC
and Roxio
on my PC. As Roxio continues to add "security" features and random eye
candy
to their app, I find myself using EAC more and more ...
