Hi Danyl

Great to hear that OER is finding application in permaculture.Yes, definitely keen to help out and be part of a panel (although probably via video from Wellington). I'll email you directly, hopefully there are one or two others on the list who can take part also.

Kia ora all,

Sorry for a long silence. I have been overseas, but am now back in Wellington.

Danyl, I fully support your ambition, but I am not sure I can help much.

I am pushing the CC OER agenda in the Pacific Islands as I can see it will have a great impact and greatly improve educational outcomes.

Keep up the good work all

Ian

Kia ora Danyl,

I think its an excellent idea to propose a session for Australian Permaculture Convergence. There are clearly strong synergies between CC and sustainable agriculture.

Regretfully I will not be able to participate due to international travel commitments attending another OER conference at the same time :-(.

That said, I think you should go ahead with a submission -- I sure that within our growing kiwi open community you will be able to identify suitable co-presenters.

Since there are so many natural synergies between the values of CC and
permaculture (as explored in my paper for the Free Culture conference
in Berlin), and some permies are already making use of CC licensing
(eg see http://piginthemud.com/), it's clear to me there is huge scope
for the growth of OER creation and re-use among permaculture
educators.

The Australian Permaculture Convergence presents a unique opportunity
to educate and organise around this potential, and as I hinted last
year, I am keen to put together a session on CC/ OER at the APC in
Turangi this April (http://www.apc11.co.nz/).  I wonder if anybody on
this list would be keen to be part of a panel at such a session? I'm
particularly thinking of Jane, as the CC ANZ co-ordinator, and Wayne,
as the head of the OER Foundation, but there may be others who could
bring their experience and enthusiasm to a CC panel at APC. Some
speakers already arranged for APC are giving their addresses via
digital video link, so even if you can't come to the APC in person, it
may be possible to arrange a remote address using the same system.

If you are keen, please email me ASAP, so I can co-ordinate with APC
organisers (and if necessary video techs).

Ngā mihi
Danyl
