A reminder and a change of dates for ccAustralia’s special
edition of Melbourne University’s postgraduate journal Platform: “Yes
We’re Open”. Abstracts are now due 17 May (ie a fortnight later than the
original date) while full papers will be due 5 July (ie four weeks earlier).
This is to comply with new guidelines from Platform on the review process. A full description of the theme is below, but in summary the
special issue will focus on the consequences now that the “open” is
becoming so much more mainstream. As such we invite proposals on anything to do
with open: motivations for adopting open strategies, open business models, open
access and government transparency, open educational resources, open formats
and open standards. PLATFORM is a new open-access online graduate journal published
by the Media and Communications Program of the School of Culture and
Communications at the University of Melbourne. Their focus is on international engagement,
so this is a great opportunity for post graduates and recent graduates (ie no
more than 6 months after graduation) from around the world to be published in a
journal by one of Australia’s leading universities. Jessica Coates Project Manager Creative Commons Clinic Queensland University of Technology ph: 07 3138 8301 fax: 07 3138 9395 email: j2.coates AT qut.edu.au
